Since cancer is a multifaceted condition with many contributing factors, the type of cancer support I offer is also multifaceted. No matter what type of cancer an individual has or what type of conventional treatment one has received or is receiving, the goal is to treat the individual, not the disease process. Each person that manifests cancer has different contributing factors that need support. One person may have an incompetent immune system; another may have hormonal imbalances; another is not able to manage stress adequately; another may have compromised liver and/or kidney function preventing proper elimination of toxins. Many people have a combination of these contributing factors and determining what needs attention to create a unique and successful treatment plan is most important.
Cancer Support with Natural Medicine
After a thorough history and review of previous tests, I educate my patients about the various types of testing that may be indicated to determine where their body is compromised. This may include checking for nutritional deficiencies such as zinc, vitamin D and certain amino acids. Other testing may include adrenal cortisol and DHEA levels along with sex hormones. Fibrinogen is commonly tested to determine the fluidity of one’s blood since thick (coagulated) blood is associated with cancer. Natural killer cell activity can help us evaluate how effective one’s immune system is functioning.
Since most cancer treatment protocols can be extensive and at times overwhelming, a regular eating pattern, consistent exercise, restorative sleep, stress management and proper attitude need to be well established. Then adding in support to address intestinal dysbiosis, blood sugar balance, inflammation and cellular detoxification will be much more effective at restoring health.
Once we have gathered any additional information/test results I will make my recommendations and we will devise a treatment plan that meets your needs based on effective natural therapies, lifestyle changes, acupuncture, counseling, etc. Regular monitoring with be conducted and changes to the treatment plan will be considered as indicated.
Since cancer therapy options are so plentiful and readily available, developing a working relationship with your practitioner that allows for an open dialogue about these options is very important. The more one is able to understand the dynamic that is occurring in your system, the better you are equipped to determine what options fit your needs. This type of exploration allows for a true healing environment to be created, allowing your emotional, spiritual as well as physical needs to be supported.
