Testing

Standard Blood and Serum Screening Tests are valuable tools that serve as part of a general health screening that may indicate certain patterns that require further testing.

  • Blood Chemistry – evaluates electrolytes, liver and kidney function, blood sugar levels
  • Complete Blood |Count – screens for anemia, bacterial and viral infections, allergies, parasitic infection as well as some nutritional deficiencies
  • Lipid studies – cholesterol screening with HDL, LDL and triglycerides

Specialized Testing Examples:

Heavy Metal Testing: this urine test helps determine if you have heavy metals stored in various tissues/organs of your body. It involves taking a chelating agent – typically DMSA – based on your weight and collecting urine for 6 hours following the ingestion of the chelating agent.

Adrenal Stress Test: the most common test uses four salivary samples collected by patient at home to measure cortisol, DHEA and other values. It may help rule out underlying causes of fatigue, insomnia, mood swings, and hormonal imbalance.

Complete Digestive Stool Test: stool samples collected at home and analyzed for yeast, bacterial and parasitic infections and markers for digestive function and inflammation

Comprehensive Thyroid Function Test: for a more complete look at thyroid status we evaluate TSH, Free T4, Free T3, Thyroid antibodies and reverse T3 if indicated. They help rule out sub-clinical low thyroid and thyroid hormone conversion problems commonly missed with standard thyroid tests.

Female or Male Hormone Test: 24-hour urine or blood sample depending on the hormones or system we are interested in evaluating

VAP Cholesterol Testing and other Cardiovascular Risk Tests: a more comprehensive evaluation of HDL and LDL subtractions as well as other markers

Gluten Allergy and Celiac Disease Tests: a variety of tests can be done to determine if gluten is a problem. It is important to note that not all gluten allergies, intolerances or celiac disease cases will involve digestive complaints.

Methylation Profile and other Genetic Testing: blood tests that evaluate the methylation cycle and certain genetic mutations affecting methylation
